Three Mayors arrested in new corruption scandal in Spain: "Three Mayors are among eight people arrested on the Costa da Morte in Galicia on Monday in a new swoop against corruption in Spain.

Agents from the U.D.E.F., Economic and Fiscal Crime Unit, spent Monday morning searching the Town Halls in the towns of Cee, Fisterra, and Mazaricos, three towns to see the arrests of their Mayors. They face charges of influence peddling, perversion of the course of justice, and bribery.

Codenamed ‘Operación Orquesta’, three local industrialists have also been arrested.

The operation, which Police have been working on for more than a year, remains open and further detentions in forthcoming hours have not been ruled out."
