Mataró businessman arrested after abandoning injured employee at hospital: "The Catalan police force, the Mossos d’Esquadra, have arrested a businessman from Mataró after he left an injured employee at the doors of a local hospital, asking him to keep quiet about where he worked.
The injured man from Ecuador was working without a contract and lost his hand in an accident at the nautical workshop where he worked. His boss told him to say that he had injured himself while out fishing and to say that he had been brought to the hospital by a man he had met in the street.
Staff at the hospital were suspicious of the patient’s explanations and alerted the police, who arrested the businessman a week later. Telecinco reports that the company’s foreman was also taken into custody."
