Man shoots four people dead in Olot

Man shoots four people dead in Olot: "man has shot dead four people in Olot, Barcelona, this (Wednesday) morning in two separate shooting incidents.

His economic situation is being blamed for the crime, with the man first killing two builders, a father and son owners of the Construccions Tubert company, 62 year old Joan and 35 year old Ángel Tubert, where the shooter was reportedly about to be made redundant. They were in the La Cuina de l’Anna bar in the Canya area of the town.

Then he went and shot dead a local CAM Caixa del Mediterrani bank deputy manager, Rafael Turró, and one of the bank’s office workers, Anna Molas.

He shot the builders at 0910, and then drove his Suzuki car to the bank and carried out the second killings at 0930. He then handed himself into the police outside the bank. The local police had stopped there as the shooter had double parked.
The shooter’s words as he was being taken into custody were ‘Now I am satisfied’.

The shooter has now been arrested by the Catalan regional police, Los Mossos d’Esquadra. He has been named as 57 year old Pere P.P., who lives with his father in Sant Esteve d’en Bas, and who has no previous record.

A witness told Europa Press that the man involved was ‘strange’ and that he would often leave his work dressed as ‘sherrif’ complete with fake pistol and sherrif’s badge"
