Fugitives wanted for arson attack are extradited from Spain - Manchester Evening News: "Two fugitives wanted in connection with a £1.2m arson attack have been extradited from Spain.
Richard Smith, 29, went on the run after being sprung from a security van. He went missing in May after a van taking him to court in Salford was attacked.
Smith and Jared Jones, 28, a convicted robber, originally from Cheetham Hill, were both extradited under European Arrest Warrants.
Smith, of Pegwell Drive, Salford, was charged with escaping from lawful custody and appeared at Salford Magistrates' Court yesterday . He was remanded in custody."
