woman who was jailed for setting fire to the man who raped her daughter, has had her sentence reduced by the Supreme Court. María del Carmen G. E.’s daughter was 13 years old at the time of the sexual assault. Her aggressor, Antonio C. V., was jailed for the crime and later released on parole.
On June 13, 2005, in Benejúzar, Alicante, he happened to see the mother of his victim, and asked her how her daughter was. The mother then followed him to a bar, where she threw gasoline over him, before setting fire to him. He died 10 days later.
