But her relationship with the former mayor of seaside resort Marbella, Julian Muñoz, has put her in the spotlight for other less respectable reasons.
anti-corruption prosecutor in Malaga has accused her of laundering at least 1.8m euros (£1.5m) for her disgraced former boyfriend who was jailed in July 2006 for his part in a corruption scam that brought down the entire town hall of Marbella on the Costa del Sol.
The flamboyant 54-year-old singer is accused of using embezzled funds to purchase a portfolio of properties along Spain's southern coast that include a cattle ranch, an apartment, a hotel and disco, and a mansion named 'Mi Gitana' – 'My Gypsy' where she currently resides."
